How does digital radio distribution / radio promotion work? |
A couple of years ago radio distribution / radio promotion was done by bringing real CDs to the radio stations and music journalists. But now there's a platform established we're connected to. This platform anables the radio promotion non-physical. There are only audio files to distribut over the internet and (almost) no CD must be manufactered.
Because of that radio distribution / promotion has got much more cheaper then doing it with hundreds of CDs send out via mail to the radio stations and music journalists.
We put your release into that platform, add the promotion informations or a link to a promotion website about the release and wait for your "Go". Additional you can book the presence in a weekly newsletter to all ca. 2.500 musci journalists.
From the start of the promotion all radios stations and music journalists who have access to this platform have 90 days to listen to every song of the distributed / promoted CD in real audio format, they can check the informations added and the radios statition that are granted can take over the song they want to play as WAVE-file.
If a music journalist wants to write about the music and artists he can use the informations (artist infos, artwok, link to the artist homepage and so on) brought up with the music or contacts you for more informations.
For sure, like promotion via CD even this promotion must not be overrated. It's just balancing what's less expensive and where can I reach the most people. Unfortunately the media is very ignorant and focuses onthe stars. Newcomers have not priority.
And you should not think that the first radio promotion will lead into a chart entry. If you want to start radio promotion always keep in mind that you have to do more than once, or twice.
